Spring Cleaning

Aloha, and welcome back to my little corner of the interwebs, where we talk all things astrology, energy healing, and mystical insights. This week, I want to share a gem of wisdom that came through for me while I was deep cleaning, clearing, and reorganizing my home. Just like we regularly clean our physical spaces, it’s important to make a ritual of deep cleaning and reorganizing our emotions, manifestations, and deeply rooted beliefs. Doing so creates the space we need to welcome in new energies and shift our perspectives on the challenges that keep us stuck.

As I was wiping down surfaces in my home, I realized just how long it had been since I’d done a thorough clean. During that time, dust and grime had accumulated without me even noticing. I had been on auto-pilot, regularly cleaning the “important” areas like the kitchen and bathroom but forgetting those hidden nooks and crannies that desperately needed attention.

It struck me how similar this is to shadow work. We often get stuck on auto-pilot, addressing the most obvious emotions and fears in our day-to-day lives, while the gunk of unresolved feelings and limiting beliefs collects in the shadows, hidden from view but still craving acknowledgment. And if you're like me, with an avoidant trauma response, things can pile up before you even realize it. But the focus shouldn’t be on how it happened—what matters is how we face and deal with it.

This isn’t about shaming ourselves or anyone else into feeling like we aren’t doing enough, or that the way we are is wrong. Rather, it’s a gentle reminder that you don’t have to face the shadows or deep clean your emotional space alone. “Many hands make light work,” as the saying goes. Asking for help when you're struggling with your shadows makes it less scary and much easier to face.

Another realization I had during my cleaning spree was that purging old clothes is a form of past self-healing and acceptance. Many of the clothes we hold onto carry the energy of who we were when we wore them. That’s why it can feel so hard to let them go—it forces us to confront those past versions of ourselves and release them, knowing we’ll never be that person again. But instead of resisting, we can use this process as a way to recognize how much we’ve grown. Notice the ways in which you’ve changed, especially how you now handle challenges and conflict. This act of releasing old clothes becomes a beautiful way to honor and love your past self, and to let go with gratitude.

It always amazes me how the most mundane tasks can mirror spiritual and energetic work so effortlessly. That’s a lot of what I include in my work, and it’s what you’ll feel when you work with me. Inner work doesn’t have to be intimidating—it can be simple, gentle, and meet you exactly where you’re at. Over time, with consistency, you’ll look back and see how much you’ve expanded and evolved from that very first step.

Sending love and light as you continue on your journey,

Alohilani
